[[For Chained only]] The [M]alice in my heart It was of pure silence as he entered his territory. He hoped it would be full of activity in the future, just not so much that it clouded his brain. The deep colors of his coat were no longer flat aginst his back, but comically sticking up. The rain had long stopped though it looked like it might rain again. In the back of his mind he was thinking about the small lake nearby. It would flood a little, but not enough to cause any harm to anything. He was here to bring the first pack member to her home. She was unique. She still had spirit as well, it would have been very dull to have gotten a truly broken slave. He personally found no fun in controlling the shell of a once wolf. It was like talking and being with a tape recorder. He had no planned beating either. That part was completly up the the wolves themselves.
Follow the rule, don't get hurt... it was simple since he didn't have many rules to begin with. Beautiful leaves in many colors covered parts of the ground, it was truly a perfect place for him. His skull turned behind him to see the white furred beauty that graced his otherwise silent land. "This...is my land." He said calmly. His face blank yet full of energy. His eyes seemed to be the only thing that showed how much he wanted to just have a moment of complete randomness. He held his high posture instead, self disipline show him that. Years of working his way so far kept everything in check. Malice never knew when a wolf would challenge him for these lands. Especially since there wasn't much protection to it yet. May never fade...

[C]hained
you don't know me Warmth and safety surround Chained as she padded through the land. The clouds were swollen overhead and promised more rain. She didn’t need more rain, but here, she didn’t mind. Rich scents of leaf mold and clear water reached out to caress her and welcome her to what would become her new home. This was his land? This beautiful, multi-colored land of gentle sloping hills, and a far-off sparkling lake were his? They suited him, not just rather pleasing to the eye with color and shape, but carrying a deeper undercurrent of emotion. She almost yelped for joy. These were not the city ruins of her childhood, or the dark pine forests governed by the General, but real lands. She also restrained herself, and in that way, the y were the same, for half an instant. “ It’s beautiful.” She breathed. She wasn’t lying, even. It was pleasant here. She almost felt like she could settle down here. But she reminded herself never to say hello to Malice. That was something she’d learned with Lukaas. If you say hello, it hurts even more when you say good-bye. and you don't wear my c h a i n s

The [M]alice in my heart Her voice was lyrical, soft and not worn down with age. His own was rough and probably not as pleasant. Still, he held his own soft ways. Life had not been kind to him and yet beyond a point one could still see the soft wolf underneath all that alpha. Turning his cloudy gaze to her, he knew what she said was true. The edge of his mouth twitched upward and stayed there. He would tell Chained would be an interesting wolf no matter her backround. Then his mind wondered of her position in this forming pack. Being titled a slave fit her persona and name, but not her being. His mind wandered over ranks, but decided she would make her own in due time. Malice could tell she would naturally take on a role which she unconsciously desired. If not then he had one or two ideas. Life for her would be bearable here, but what about herself? Did she have her own dreams that did not include him as her alpha?
Maybe another wolf she had met that she has given her heart to? That thought made his stomach churn. It was the dominance to be the better. A jealousy of who claims who. That of which that made him such an unpleasant wolf. In his heart he knew this female wolf could be a mating prospect, and that was just regular male wolf thinking. "I was lucky in claiming this place...I guess." He replied tearing himself from his thoughts. Turning hish ead from her, he looked at the lake, it sparkled with that extra rain. Suddenly the sun could be seen through a break in the clouds. They still looked dark, but they were moving. He was slightly dissappointed in not seeing more rain fall, but a least enough had fallen for the land to be refreshed. "Chain..." He said, purposel shortening her name, "Tell me a little about yourself." He said, even though his rough voice made it sound like he was pleading to hear another wolf speak. May never fade...

A little about her, huh? Well, she could go there.
“I was born south of here. Way south. We lived in an abandoned city. The building walls were all almost down the whole way, and there were lots of trees, and plenty of prey. My mother was great. She was pretty distant, but she loved me. That’s what counted. My dad was nice enough. An Alpha. With a mate. But he sort of… Well, he had an affair with my mother, and then there was me. I had no siblings. And I was really a pretty bad mix. Half Alpha, half slave. So naturally, his mate hated me. Being a girl, I was given to the Alpha’s mate, since that was their weird custom, and she was… Less than nice. My half brother, Lukaas, he tried to make her stop. Even stole from her. That’s how I ended up getting sent away, because she thought I was the thief. Didn’t believe Lukaas. So my dad brought me east, to something similar to Auction rock, and picked up another female slave. Probably seduced her on the way back, because he was alone. I heard him, already telling her she would get the same ‘initiation rite’ that my mother’d gotten. That’s a nasty cycle and it’s probably still going.” She wasn’t too shy on talking about that.
“I ended up with another brute. His real name… I didn’t know his real name, but everyone called him the General. He kept moving his pack mostly southwards, leaving them periodically to guard his borders, picking up new slaves. He didn’t even call us his pack. We were his army. He had some sort of obsession with getting land. More and more land. We were all careful with the General. If you made him mad, he put you on the front line and hoped you got killed. If you didn’t die, he made the wolf behind you kill you. I wasn’t quite strong enough for the fighting force. I think I was less than a year old at that point. But fast. So he made me a scout. He even called me that. Scout. I was there a while running messages, checking battlefields. He wasn’t cruel unless you made him angry. I was almost happy, for a long while there. Not quite, but close enough. “General had an enemy. A big brown wolf named Nazi. He headed as far north as he could to keep an eye on Nazi. He took me with, I figure I know why, since I was in heat. Anyway, he told me to go check the border, and be fast about it. It was probably a day and a half’s trip, but he said he wanted me back by sunset, and it was just before noon. So I ran the whole way, and managed to get there in good time. Turns out, Nazi had died a few days ago, and they were still appointing his heir, but I still had to get back. I knew I’d never make it, but I tried anyway. I stumbled in past the deadline, and fell down. Didn’t address him. Ordinarily that would put you on the front lines, but there was no war. So he made the quickest journey to a place to get rid of me he could, and left me there. It took almost a week, but then, I was only there for something like an hour, before you came along.” She didn’t bother going into meeting Malice, walking to Malice’s territory with Malice, talking to Malice… After all, Malice had been there.

The [M]alice in my heart She detailed her history so well and thoroughly that he wondered if she had any secret of her own. It didn't matter if she did really, he wasn't interested in whatever else lay in her mind. Piercing pale blue orbs were turned to the left of her, staring at nothing in particular. he never once lost interest in her story, and the name General sparked recognition. He had never met the wolf, but had heard the name before. Malice's only goal was to build up a sturdy pack and live normally. He did not greed for more land or power, just the land he stood on. Turning his head back toward Chained as she finished, he tilted his head and seemed to be in thought. His bushy tail curved around his broad body as an involuntary action of his subconcious.
Finally he looked up, "There is not much to myself. My father was the beta ond sort of the alpha figure of the pack since the actual alpha was on his last leg. He was unpleasant and controlled everything about the pack. If he didn't like someone, they died. It was very simple, and I didn't like it. Some of the females who where in his favor died by my hand. Eventually so did he, so I was then granted my freedom. I was three when I killed him. Since then I really never stuck to a place until now." He spoke simply. So trace of regret laced his voice, the brute of a father and his wh*res where doomed the moment they gave birn to Malice. "My mother named me Malice because I was a demon amongst my peers. I disagree, just a scarred up alpha who needs to settle down." He ended sighing. May never Fade...

”So true.” She agreed, nodding gently. ”But I suppose we all have to take a break sometime, and settle down.” She noted, looking around at the colorful trees. They were beautiful. Her eyes were drawn to the lake, though, it’s small waves sending sparkles into the sky. She was pretty thirsty, and there hadn’t been enough rain for some standing water. She glanced around one more time, though, to see if there was anywhere else to get a drink, but she could do nothing but lick water from leaves, something she was not inclined to do.
”Race you to the lake?” She offered, cocking her head. Her eyes sparkled. She knew he was probably fast, but had no doubt his bulk would slow him down. Even now she was analyzing his aerodynamics, trying to determine whether his enormous strength would hinder him, or send him rocketing in front of her.

[[ooc: yeah i got rid of it, posted in wrong thread heh ^^;;]] The [M]alice in my heart He considered her words, then nodded. His pale blue eyes watched her actions. Her suggestion caught him off guard, but he did suppose she would like to get to know the land better. Besides, she was probably thrist on top of that. Racing he sounded amusing at the moment. It was true he was heavy, but most of it was the muscle which was only more force used to go faster. His mass and force sort of balance. He wasn't the fastest, but not the slowest of wolves either. "Well then, start running." He stated, taking off probably at the same time she did. He wondered how well she would fair dodging the trees that lead up to the lake. The lake itself wasn't really that far, this would be a short race. Sprinting like this, would be easy for him to do. What about her own speed though? May never fade...

Oh, Chain loved it when wolves underestimated her. Then she could stun everyone. He ran a moment before she did, but in one stride she was at his shoulder. She turned, looked at him, and grinned, before veering to the left and hiding from his view. When she was confident he couldn’t see her, she really ran. She hadn’t been a scout for nothing. She darted through the trees, low to the ground, long legs sending her rocketing through the forest at dizzying speed. Chain wasn’t strong at all, in battle. But out here, she was simply a memory, a wisp of wind flying along at breakneck speed. Her lower les were kept closer to her body, allowing her to push in one direction or another at half a second’s notice, which she did as she dodged a looming tree. Her forelegs stretched and tested, pulling her forwards and making sure the ground was stable, telling her where the uneven places were and where rocks lay hidden.
Ahead she could see sunlight streaming through a thicket. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth and she lowered her head, and plowed though. In an eruption of twigs and leaves that were stripped from her fur within moments, she raced across open land. She couldn’t see anything but the lake, sparkling ahead of her. Grass flew up in her wake, flowers were broken by the unwavering rhythm of her paws. It didn’t seem Malice was ahead of her, but he could easily be keeping her pace, since she’d had to navigate woods… So she kicked it up a notch, head as low to the ground as she could keep it, back legs launching her again and again. She felt the looseness of her muscles fall away as she made her mad dash for the lake.

The [M]alice in my heart What a smart female, hiding her true speed but taking a different route away from his eyes. She would probably be at the lake by the time he made it out of the forest. Her long legs and slender form were pristine for running such a distance. His head shook and he chuckled under his breath. The female would beat her alpha, what amusing pride what would give her. Looking dead ahead, his speed increased as he gave his legs more push. At least it would be an interesting race. His rough pads just barely missed the roots of trees as he dodged them all as if they were nothing. Running in the open was harder for him since he didn't have the security of coverage. Still, at least he would get out of the forest before she would.
As he predicted, he dashed out of the trees a second before herself, but thats where it ended. Scout, her nickname suited her more than it should. She raced ahead of him, leaving him behind easily now that the forest was out of the way. He jumped the last part and went ahead and landed in the lake itself. The water closed up around him, it was actually lukewarm today. Overflowing the banks due to flooding, it was deep even where he was. Propelling his legs toward the surface, the fur around him comically stuck flat. Malice shook slightly and turned to look to what had happened to Chained. Had she stopped before going in, or was she somewhere in the water after doing the same thing? Is nothing more than a powerful grudge I keep...

Chain had finally located Malice. That blur she’d seen coming out? That was him. She’d slowed, now, sure of her win, and not wanting to stumble, and turned to look at him, as he gained on her. Bad idea. She looked up and saw a large, lone tree in her path. She dodged, and picked up the pace to make up for her slow-down. She scanned the area around the lake and saw several more trees. No luck there. She veered and saw a small beach like area ahead of her. As she ran, she was fairly certain there was nothing there, so she turned to see Malice streaking just behind her. Her paws didn’t get quite the same friction here on the sand. Her legs flailed as she sought foothold, and she tripped. Her light frame was launched out, over the water, and somersaulted towards the glittering crystal surface. She looked down, eyes full of a pleasant fear, the kind you enjoy. She saw her own face, reflected in the water, Her mouth was open, eyes wide. She smelled , in that moment, the warm, pure scent of the water, and saw rays of light dance beneath its surface. Then she came down with a splash, sending water spraying in all directions.
She paused beneath the water. Her legs churned, and bubbles flew in all directions for half a moment. Now which way was up? The bubbles organized themselves and moved uniformly in one direction. Had to be up. She put her face in that direction and paddled. Her head broke the surface. The spray from her fall was still dimpling the surface. Her blue-gray eyes scanned the water and the shore, trying to find Malice.

The [M]alice in my heart Indeed, she had not been able to stop like himself. He could see her head bob up to his left. It almost scared him to how close she come up toward him. His feet moved in rhythm, keeping him above water. Finally over the shock, he quickly made his way to shore. Not that he hated he water, just what it did to his fur. His feet finally touched the soft ground and he lifted himself form the water. With the water stuck to him, one could see how big he really was. Some thought that most of his fur made him look bigger than he really was, but no, he was the same size no matter how you put it. Only with spiky, yet short, fur. He gave his body a good shake. Droplets of water flew in all directions, as did his fur. By the end of it, his fur was comically spiked and smooth in different places. He laughed at his own appearance and turned in Chained's direction, "I have to admit, that was fun." He said even though he did loose the race. Hides deep as personalities collide...

Chain pulled herself loose from the water, and gave a thorough shake, the droplets splattering close to but not on her Alpha.
“Yes, I’d have to agree.” She said, eyes sparkling just a little. “I needed a good run.” She dipped her head and lapped the water as it came close to swirl about her feet. When the edge had been taken away from her thirst, she raised her head, and looked at Malice.
“So who all’s here, member wise?” She asked. Chained was swift, yes, but small. Should she ever (God forbid) make an enemy within the pack, she hoped to have friends to keep her safe. And the best way to go about this? Be friendly, though she wasn’t typically outgoing, she would find a circle of friends to keep close and confide in. She had caught fleeting wolf-scents on her mad dash to the lake, and wasn’t quite sure, but she might have come across a female master. Did Malice have a mate? Now she was just curious. ___________________ [-dies- Bad post, and I haven't been on much...]

He looked back to Chained, then at the water again. He nodded, remembering the names of the current members along with herself. "Well, there is Dew, she is a sweet pup. No doubt you will like her. There is Royce, the beta, he is... interesting. Also yes, I do have a mate, Acantha is her name. She has a temper, but is otherwise gentle." He laughed slightly. Indeed she had spirit, and a lovely mouth to go with it. He shook himself on more time and turned to Chained, "Do you wish to walk around for a bit?" He asked, it would be a good opportunity for her to explore the land. Mostly the area which the wolves would sleep, away from where rain could reach them.

“That would be great.” She replied, head held at shoulder level, smiling, and still slightly damp, fur close to her body, showing slim curves as she hoped not to seem to appealing. After all, he had a mate. He needed no temptation, and after what her father had done… Nope. That probably wouldn’t be an issue, but still. The Alpha of her old pack had a mate, as well. She shook again, a little moisture flying away, but mostly she just made her fur stick up rather awkwardly. It would dry faster this way, anyway.
“I’d love to meet the Alphess sometime, then. But for now, I ought to figure out where I am.” She said, brow furrowed just a little, trying to keep the names stored in her head. But the look quickly cleared and she brightened, standing ready. “No races.” She promised. ___________________ [THis is just BAD, but you needed a post. It's at least got something to work with...]

[[Alright, Malice hasn't logged in since Feb. 27. He's got a bit of a pack going here, and I play Royce, the Beta. I'm going to have a talk with ther person who plays Acantha and see if those two can take over until he returns, or if he returns at all. I'm archiving this so it doesn't dirty up the boards. Please bring Chained to His Queen Is Home, that is going to be the main pack thread for the moment.]]
