"Knock me down get back up again
You're in my blood
I'm not a lonely man
There's no load I can't hold. . ." Vaurien {{ [Fox] Friesian ;; Two + 1/4 Yrs ;; 15.1HH }} Vaurien had followed Preston to his home and had found the way there somewhat difficult to keep straight in his head. It was surely a piece of heaven set out of the way for ones who were in need of it; Indeed it was.
Vaurien couldn't believe his eyes once he got to Zephyr. It was a land that had been crafted by skilled hands for those who were in need of a paradise amidst the Earth's dark alleys and streets. It was flanked by a mountain, it held a decent- more than decent- water source, it grew plentiful grasslands and it had a difficult map to follow if you were bound to find it.
Coppery stud stood in a spot of sunshine, his hide all aglow where the rays of sunlight found him through the clouds in the sky. He had rubbed off as much as the grit and mud from Horse Head Field as he could when he had reached Preston's homeland. Eyes were closed as he let his ears prick this way and that as he listened to what was on the breeze, rustling of grass, muted birdsong, Nature in it's fullest glory- at least the fullest Vaurien had seen in a long, long, long while.
Nostrils flared and suddenly his eyes opened and he charged forward. Legs stretching out and eating the ground up as he allowed his muscles a good stretch, he couldn't remember the last time he had run with a light heart. His gallop slowed only after a brief while as his gait cruised into the steady canter of his breed, trying to lean toward more regal than awkward and stiff. Vaurien tossed his head and gave a series of bucks, crow hops and other assortments of tom foolery to try and try to get the wind to cleanse away the darkness that he had been raised in. Slavery.
The new Beta of Zephyr soon slowed his coltish madness and found a patch of grass that looked like an acceptable snack, he soon settled in with a flourish, discovering his empty belly. The goodness of the land was soon cropped short, mashed and then swallowed to be digested. Where Preston had gone, or where Vaurien had left him for his foolishness was beyond him so he settled in to wait for his return or a talk for not forgetting the Lead Stallion in a rush to regain his freedom.
Was he truly a free-roamer now? Or was he just temporarily the Beta for Preston's purposes? he mused to himself as he continued to gobble and munch quite content, he'd have to ask him when he came around.
OOC;; Blah! But it's done! Sort of rushed, have to go here soon.

OOC;; It's okay! No need to apologize! All is forgiven. Take your time in replying. I'll just stare at your name in the meanwhile, since it's very eye-catching and purdy. ;]

Preston Life is so much better... The muscular frame of Preston strode proudly into the main meadow of Zephyr; he had challenged for this land only a few days ago. Because his territory was protected against nearly every winter storm, there was hardly any ice at all on the trees or the grass, providing his herd with a year-round supply of food.
A few hours ago, the stallion had traveled to Horse Head Fields, a section of the Auction Rock cut off for only horses. His purpose for going there? To find a slave worthy of a life of freedom, and give it to them. Well, no horse deserved to live the life of a slave, but Tony simply could not rescue all of them. A stag named Vaurien had grabbed his attention when he stood up against a group of other masters, who were obviously planning on ruining the virginity of a cluster of young mares. Although he had lost the battle, Vaurien had pretty much won the war; of course, he had been unable to rescue the mares, but he had been given the opportunity to save himself; Preston had taken an instant liking to the male slave, and removed all chains that he had ever had for life; however, he did not stop at your average herd member. No. This was one stallion who deserved far more than what most horses would get; Preston had also promoted Vaurien to the Beta of Zephyr. Now that they were both here, it was time to discuss some business and give the newcomer a tour of his new home.
Preston trotted down a rather large hill in the direction of his new Beta, and gave him an inviting grin, eyes warm and welcoming; he was not the kind of leader who would frighten his followers into submission and use them to do his own dirty work.
"Welcome to Zephyr, Vaurien."
With that, Tony lowered his mighty crown close to the ground and gobbled up a few mouthfuls of green grass in a manor that might have given the impression of "I have not eaten in months." Even though he was in charge, Preston was definitely far from coordinated and graceful; he ate like a slop sometimes, and often found himself tripping over a flat surface and landing flat out on his face. ...as a free horse, eh? OOC: Well, I replied, hehe. It's bad, but I felt the need to post. My muse is drained again, after two posts. >.<

VaurienVaurien greedily snatched another mouthful to fill his grumbling stomach. Molars crushed the greens easily and it was quickly swallowed. Ears flicked to a sound, steadily becoming louder, head shot up and eyes quickly found the brilliant colors of Preston, and a contagious grin.
Preston had been his savior. He had saved him from slavery. Coppery stallion felt like he owed Preston his life, even more. Vaurien hadn't asked to be saved, it had been a simple act that had not been greedy nor selfish, and he had been given the chance of a life time. A chance to become the Beta of Zephyr, the herd lands of Preston. The offer had been accepted despite a moments hesitation on his part.
With all that going that his mind, Vaurien beamed back a smile at the approaching Preston.
"Welcome to Zephyr, Vaurien."
He dipped his head in recognition of his better and answered, "Thank you, Preston. It's very welcoming here." He already felt like the land had welcomed him on it's own, but it now felt like home now that Preston had spoken a welcome first. He breathed out a breath of either relief or acceptance then watched as the paint snatched and gobbled up several mouthfuls like a moocher- had manners been taught to that boy? He smiled in a silent laugh, never going to repeat what he had thought. Everybody had their quirks and quarks.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
