There was no use in fighting fate. She did things in her own way, in her own thing, and she did everything for a reason. Few understood this philosophy or accepted it, but Moth was one of the very few who did accept it. Unlike others in his position, he ducked his head as his master, his father, walked away and faded into the distance. Moth stood quietly on the rock, allowing the wind to twist its transparent fingers through his thick ruff. Things would happen as they were meant to, and he was destined to be here, destined to be traded from one master to another. He, unlike the others, accepted that. It had been his role in life from the very beginning. He's been a disappointment as a pup, and his talents had been overlooked for his queer nature, again, something you cannot fight. You are who you are.
Among these other wolves, the other slaves, he was slightly taller, and thickly built. His muscled beefed him up considerably against the wolf who stood next to him. His thick next was covered with a ruff of gray and brown hairs that rested where they always were. He was not about to cause a fuss when this was the way things had to be. Moth kept his head bent, even when it didn't need to be. His eyes went fuzzy and he looked back over his life up until now. Even though he accepted this was how things would have to be, he couldn't pretend there were things he was going to miss. Up there, in the mountains, he's experienced so much and learned what it truly meant to be a wolf, pushing every part of your being to its limitations, running until you couldn't breath or till he couldn't move. It was moments like that that he would miss, that much he couldn't deny.
Looking at his paws, Moth let time pass him. He would observe the lupines around him and note every little thing about them, he couldn't help it. Analyzing and observing with a part of his nature, like a program that had been downloaded into his genetic mainframe. Either way, he was here until he was chosen. Moth would be here until there was light to follow, as now his world was dark.
Who will be the light?

Sano walked bodly through the action block. He was a free roamer and if caught could end up just like the other wolves here. Moving swiftly through the field his blue eyes scanned the area. His silky, shiny black coat stood out from the rugged and dirty ones of the slaves. His white claws were obvious too. Shifting his black ears back and forth he looked for a good candidate to become free and join his pack. He was looking for a strong brute for a beta or a strong willed femme for another member or maybe a alphess. Looking around he spotted a bulky looking greyish brown wolf standing next to a smaller less bulky slave. He paid no attention to the smaller wolf but walked up to the other brute. "Tell me what would you do to be free of this horrid life?" He paused for a second. "To run free in a pack never to be chained down by the chains of slavery?" He looked into the other brutes eyes determined to take, hopefully his new beta, him home.

Moth had been standing, just like the others, simply waiting watching, just knowing something that was meant to happen would happen. It didn't take him long to spot the black wolf. He had oddly colored toes for one thing, but it was just in the way he moved, cautions and careful that Moth knew he was not like masters or slaves around here. Sharp amber eyes watched as this free roamer, for that's what Moth guessed he was, observed and surveyed the number of slaves that had been forced to congregate on this rock. He watched as this free roamer first examined the wolf next to him and the looked right into Moth's eyes.
For some reason, Moth held the gaze. It was something he was not accustomed to doing, but for some reason, and only fate knew what, he was challenging this outsider. His mud colored ears twisted forward to take in the tones of this wolf. What would you do to be free of this horrid life? The words took a moment to seep in, and Moth examined them from every angle. What was it to be free? Freedom nearly almost always came with a price, and having been a slave for nearly 4 years, a life of freedom seemed sweeter than it actually was.
To be free would mean that he would be his own master, save for an alpha, but he'd been following only one leader his entire life. Escaping from the rock was another thing, it was possible he would be hunted, and being a slave on the run was worse than being a slave. But still, freedom. He didn't know what it tasted like, but he could imagine it, having seen it through his brothers. Moth closed his eyes for a moment before saying, "Anything." It was true he was a wolf of few words, he answered things as they needed to be answered, he didn't go into detailed explanations for a yes or no question, and he never said maybe. Moth suddenly had a spark in his eyes, one of hope and rebellion. Either this was trick, or this was for real. Either way, he had made his choice.

Sano grinned as the other brute held his gaze and answered. "I think you will fit right in then" He said with a small laugh. "I am Sano" He said looking over his shoulder checking for masters. "I am here in search of more members for my pack" He grinned. "I think i have found my beta though" he said in a low voice. His sapphire eyes sparkled and danced with mischieve but the rest of him was still.

Moth was all he said. The words were thick, but there was no emotion or intention behind it. He was still mauling over in his head the decision he had made. It seemed like a good idea, to be your own wolf, to make your own choice while following the rules of the Alpha, yet living how you chose. He shoved the thoughts away, he had made this choice and he was going to stick with it. Moth smiled, his white ivories shining brilliantly in the fading sunlight. He stretched out a foreleg, stiff from hours of now use.
He felt rather daring today and tried something he'd never really been good at. Sharp amber eyes scanned the surrounding area before he looked back at Sano, his new alpha. DO you have a plan? Gosh, who knew one sentence could be so hard to fathom and speak? He'd never been one for words, he'd just been to the point. There was no sense in not trying something new now that he was free. How shall we escape from here? Again another hard question, but the more he spoke, the more Moth felt as if he were different. As if a change had come over him, one for the better. One for the advancement of his life. Perhaps Sano and his pack would be the key to Moth's true freedom from the barriers that blocked him from the world.

Sano grinned. "Why we walk out of course" He leaned closer. "Just follow my lead" Immedaitly after that Sano grabbed Moth's scruff of his neck and gave a hard tug. A few master's laughed as Sano roughly dragged Moth off. Reaching the edge he let go. "I am sorry if i hurt you i had to make it look real" He said a sad smile on his face. He looked over where he had bitten Moth. "I dont see any blood so i don't think i bit that hard" He said while still examining Moth's neck.

As the master's laugher hit his ears, for the first time Moth felt embarrassment mixed with bitter resentment for the world he was finally leaving behind. He understood this was the way it had to work, but it still didn't stop the wave of angry feelings that washed over him. As soon as they were clear of what would have been Moth's home, and Sano released him, Moth shook like a pup who fell into water for the first time. He was not only shaking off the weird feeling of being dragged by the scruff, but also the memories and feelings he'd known his entire life. He was shaking of his days of slavery and welcoming in his days of freedom.
No need to apologize, what must be done, must be. Moth let his ears point to the side in a slightly complacent manner, but the only submissiveness he'd known had always been forced out of him. Life was a whole new ball game now. Of course, his words were slightly cryptic, but he was still getting used to this whole 'freedom' thing. It would take some time before Moth's tongue moved as quickly as him mind.
