Above crows, bats, and other flying creatures swooped and swerved through the crisp air. Their background was a full moon that made everything glow with an eeriy light. The navy blue and black sky was sprinkled with dazzling stars, that shone clearly on this cold winter night.
Below black paws stood in the first deep snow that had befallen this desolate place. The white blanket shimmered under the full moons light. No grasses were tall enough to push through the heavy ice that tried to snuff out all the life that had once thrived a season ago. It was time for the earth to rest, it was time for the land to be cloaked in one color, White.
The beast that saw these things was dubbed Solaire. Why? He was never truely certain. Though his elders had told him of different reasons. One being his parents loved the sun and the moon and so named him and his sister after them. Though as to his sister he saw not certain because he had never known a sister. Another was that he was the first puppy to leave the dark den and lay in the sunlight, so from Solar they adapted it to be Solaire. Another was because he was a solaitary wolf and thus it too was adapted. He was not certain which was true but each gave some knowledge as to his behavior.
He took a few steps forward and scanned his surroundings. No other beasts besides the pests noted above were present. And so he relaxed and continued onward. He heard the soft crunch of snow beneath his large paws, that now made him appear to be wearing white socks. He grimaced, if it weren't for the snow it would appear that a tall shadow sauntered across this now snow covered street.
His silver pools took in th crumbled buildings and the still standing skyscrapers. Humans were so stupid and weak... How could they be so foolish as to cause their own down fall? Nobody really knew. Then in front of him he saw what he had been looking for. In the distance stood a tall figure surrounded by what appeared to be a platform of moving darkness. But he knew it to be the Ocean.
His pace quickened and his breath came out in white plumes that wrapped around itself and then disappeared once the phantom wolf passed through it on his way to the statue. It was not far from where he had stood before, but it was enough of a ways to make his breathing come out rather fast. He let his eyes travel up the large woman that stood so proudly with her torch now fallen from her hand. He procceeded forward and seeing the door already open this time walked inside.
This time around he did not travel to her crown but stayed below, he would just rest here tonight, and tomorrow, his real exploring would comence.
Puppet.Solaire.
