Distant suns winking in and out of sight, glowing until they burst into a million fragments of death, engulfing the surrounding planets. Wasn't Adversity's sun old enough? When would it die and take the life around it with? Certainly the concept was completely possible. However, with the ice age still thoroughly encaging the planet, Kozone doubted that the sun was about to explode, and even if it did, were they so far away that the flames wouldn't reach? How ironic that would be. The planet floats away from the sun to avoid the blazing heat, but ends up killing nearly everyone with ice instead. Life just worked that way. Ahh, in the end, it was all just a lie wasn't it? Nothing had a purpose really, one creature couldn't affect anything worthwhile. No. That was a lie. A complete and utter lie. There had been a wolf who could have changed the world. He alone could have shaped it with his warm paws and gentle thoughts, molding it into a place that everyone loved. He alone could have effected Adversity in such a way to make it a wonderful place to live, ice age or not. Yet, he'd been brutally stuck down before his time. His great, flaming light had been put out before it was allowed to glow its brightest. Without his light, Adversity had most certainly plunged into darkness.

"I'd say it's more like a stare fest." Yes, definitely a stare fest, but luckily not at each other, but at the sky. Funny thing, how the endless sky could bring even the strangest of creatures closer together. Even if it was only for a moment in time. āIām Stormbringer, by the way.ā Stormbringer... interesting name. The shapeshifter tilted her head higher up to the sky, angling her eyes toward the smallest moon, staring at it intently while she arranged her thoughts. It was the male's turn to give out his name, whatever it was. Of course, he didn't have too, Kozone usually kept her name to herself, but she'd certainly enjoy hearing it. A deep purple eye filled with shards of silver rotated down to look at them. What were their histories? Where had they come from? What powers did they have? The dark-coated creature was full of questions that she would not ask. She would never ask someone else a question that she herself wouldn't answer. She watched them some more, wondering what to say. It was her turn to speak, but words would not come. What could she possibly say that wouldn't bring up too many questions whose answers she did not want to give? As long as the conversation wasn't about herself. As long as it was about anything but herself, she'd be fine. She needed a subject. Something they could all relate to and talk about without excessive awkwardness. Her left eye still looking up at the moons, she got an idea.

"Do you know why Adversity has two moons?" It was an odd question for sure, and seemingly random, but Kozone had a very good reason for asking it. In a backward sort of way, she'd been learning more about them. If they didn't know, then she could assume that they came from somewhere else, or had not known anyone who knew the story or the Book of Souls. Luckily for Kozone herself, her father had made well sure that she'd read the book, and had also made sure that she'd memorized most of it. For, while a book could be burned or easily destroyed by other means, a memory is there until the creature who possesses it dies. Yet, the memory doesn't have to die with them, for they can always share that memory with another, and start a continuing chain. It was almost magical, how it worked. In that moment, the shapeshifter felt very grateful to a dead wolf. To a great dead wolf. To the wolf who'd help put her on the right path without even being there to show her the way for very long. If he hadn't been there, she'd probably have turned out awful. A cold-blooded killer with no respect for life. Somehow the twisted world had made life the most precious thing to her, taking it sickened her. It was odd how things worked out in the end.

[/dohtml]
