The small, delicate frame of Elle Qui Demaners trotted gracefully through Eerie Caverns, stopping here and there to sniff at different types of plants. Some would definately come in handy for treating any sick equines in which lived here, while others would end up posing a very dangerous threat to all of them. For each of the poisonous plants in which Elle spotted, she gingerly picked them all from the very base of their stems, drew a circle with a slash through it in the dirt, and placed the toxins in it. She also took a few moments to scrape just a bit of dirt over the top of the flowers and roots so that no one would be tempted to eat them should they be so dumb as to ignore the warning in which she had drawn in the soil. That should do for now, but only until the mare had a chance to warn Darkness and the rest of his herd about them. Then, everyone would have to simply steer clear of everything bad in the forest.
Jaws clamped firmly around a large clump of burdock root, which was one of the best herbs around these parts for helping to prevent and/or heal infections, Elle flew through the air, clearing a fallen, over-turned log by several feet; she was definately a jumper. A huge rock was just a few paces ahead of the obstacle and off to the right; on top of it lay several large bundles of marigold, borage leaves, dock leaves, juniper berries, lavender, and feverfew. Most surprising of all, though, was the biggest pile; it was made entirely up of cobwebs that Elle had found in various places throughout Eerie Caverns. Why did she have them? Well, they were the best thing possible that would help to stop the bleeding of a wound and soak up any spilled blood that may be around. The bay tinted mare carefully dropped her load of burdock root next to the other mounds and stepped back to look over what she had collected so far. That should do it, for now. Elle was careful, though, to make a mental note to run to the What's Leftover area of Sobibor to look for this leafy plant called 'catnip.' It was a good remedy for any sort of chest cold that a horse may have. Why it worked on an equine instead of a feline, however, no one really knew.
Now that she had a good amount of herbs in which she could use to help any others that lived her in need, Elle picked up the pile of juniper berries and dock leaves to bring back to the den in which the member horses of Eerie Caverns slept. The mare had been careful, when selecting a place to sleep, to choose a corner where she would be able to keep her stock of healing remedies; there might come a time where she would need them, but not have the chance to run out into the woods and look for whatever it was that she may need at the time. Trotting at a steady pace, Elle Qui Demanders, the newly-appointed 'nurse-mare,' as some would call her, made her way back through the trees and bushes of the forest and into the members' den. The night before, she had made a few dents in the wall in which could act like shelves, which was where she would keep her herbs. That's also exactly where she put her supplies.
It took the pretty vix a couple of trips and about fifteen to twenty minutes of her time, but her herb store was finally full and ready for use when the time came for it. Now, even though it may have been considered 'hard work' to gather as much as she just did, Elle really wasn't very tired, but even she had to admit that she could do with a drink. Moving stealthily through Eerie Caverns, the femme made her way to one of the streams in which the herd drank from; the water was murky and dark, but it tasted as if it had come from a filter in a human's house.
When she was done filling her slender bodice with the cool liquid in which it had craved to a very high level, Elle moved back into a small patch of sunshine a few dozen feet away from her drinking place. This was where the best grass --in the mare's opinion, at least-- grew. She dipped her head to take a few small mouthfuls before the sound of a twig snapping here and there and leaves crackling made its way to her twin towers. Elle straightened up and turned to face the direction in which the noise was coming from. Who could it be? Darkness didn't seem to ever go out on a mid-morning stroll, so the mare was quite perplexed as to who --or what-- it could be.
