Moss of Misty MountainsWhere am I?[M]oss, a one and a half year pup was wandering all alone down a path to a mountain. Being born in mountains, the Misty Mountains to be exact, he was used to the climate that was increasing around him. Coldness was bunching up on his haunches and slowly creeping up his spine. It was a relief for the young and aging silver pup to see the snow on the tip of the mountain. Though he was not too the mountain yet, he felt like he was already there. This place had a homey feeling to it. Like his past packs had held.
eing the small forgetful pup that he was, he had not even inhaled to see if there was anyone in these parts. An idiot move for the young brujo. There was an inhabitant alright. A big buck with an attitude. Shanook was his name and slaves were his game. But, Moss, being the oblivious puppy that he is kept pushing on, having no clue what was going to happen to him. He wouldn't make it very far into the territory. Anyone was smart enough to figure that out. Looking longingly at the mountain continuously, he padded on. His gaze not faltering from the highest peak. Then a rustle in the bushes made him stop in his tracks. Slashing his eyes over to the source of the sound, he stumbled backwards before looking to see who...or what it was. [/blockquote]

Shanook You'll need more than curiosity... The sounds of carelessly placed paw steps echoed throughout Benstripe Woods until they reached the alpha's twin towers. Awakened from his deep slumber, Shanook let out a growl of displeasure, but got up carefully so as not to wake up his sleeping mate, Cecilia. Cold eyes of coal black flashed angrily as the brute stalked out of his den and into the forest, blinking rapidly at the sudden burst of bright light. Ugh... wait til I get my hands on that piece of ---- Shanook stopped mid-thought as he crouched low in a bush, laying eyes on the newcomer for the first time. He was young, probably about a year and a half, maybe two years old, and, shockingly enough, a male. It would be nice to have a new set of brujo paws roaming this forest other than his kin and that idiot Miro, so Nook made up his mind not to scare him off. Hah, like that would happen.
The brujo crouched down until his belly fur was touching the ground, his muscles rippling beneath his long pelt of flame red. With a sudden burst of energy, Shanook threw himself over the bushes and landed squarely upon the shoulders of the surprised young wolf. With a grunt, Nook hauled himself off the stranger and shook the dust out of his coat. Eyes were not angry, just curious. When he spoke, his voice had that as-a-matter-of-fact tone to it.
"You know, young one, you should be more cautious when entering a territory that belongs to someone else. You never know who it belongs to; should you have been a fem, you'd be in pieces by now, your virginity lost forever." ...To survive in these parts

[T]he noise quickly developed into a large brute. He tore apon the young wolf's shoulders and leaped off just as fast as he had come on. Fear was stuck on the little pup's face, but it was erased as soon as he saw the wolf's eyes. They were not mad at him which calmed him down immediately. "I.....I'm sorry Sir. You're mountains remind me so much of home." Glancing up longingly at the mountains again, he shook them from his small mind and looked at the big brute. He was so tall compared to the still growing pup. Even though Moss was part Maned Wolf, he looked barely like one. This in front of him was a genuine Maned. He was magnificent and Moss admired him so. He knew right then and there that he wanted to grow up to become exactly like this stranger. [/blockquote] ooc;; Aw geeze. This is crap.

Shanook An adventurer... Shanook had, by no means whatsoever, missed the look of absolute fear and horror that flashed upon the features of the little wolf. A slight smirk planted itself onto his own lips, but only for a heartbeat before it faded as the half-grown brujo spoke.
"I......I'm sorry Sir. Your mountains remind me so much of home."
A slight pang of understanding flared up deep within the cold-hearted brute; he, too, still missed his old home with his mother, but the instant his father jumped into his daydream, he knew that he was so much better off here, in Benstripe Woods.
Shanook took a few moments to look the much smaller male over; there was definitely some Maned Wolf in there; his shoulders and long legs confirmed that. However, it was obvious that he was a mix, for a real Maned did not have haunches or stubby ears like the ones in which the wolf before Nook possessed. However, the still-growing pup currently had a build that told that he could quite possibly become an excellent hunter, and perhaps even very swift.
"It was a mistake that a young wolven such as yourself was very likely to make. You are currently in Benstripe Woods, and I'm the alpha here. The name's Shanook, but nearly everyone --except my slaves, of course-- call me Nook."
He introduced himself and his territory as he watched the smaller figure of a wolf look up towards the Benstripe Mountains with such a longing that he decided to take him up there. Nook used the very tip of his long, bushy tail to flick the pup in the ear.
"Let's go to the top. I'm sure you'll like the view; I know I certainly do."
Without waiting for a response, Shanook turned and took off faster than a speeding bullet towards the small, winding path made of dirt and rocks that led to the top of the highest mountain. At the very top was where the double rainbow formed above the fast-moving current of the waterfall. Nook slowed his pace slightly and looked back to see if his new acquaintance was following; he was, but was lagging behind. The alpha male wanted to let out a sigh of disappointment, but he didn't; the pup was still growing and had time to build up a speed. Still... if I were to allow him to live here, he would have to learn how to be very quick on his feet.
Shanook faced forward and gradually came to a slow walk, giving the young brujo time to catch up; if he was wise, he'd use it to prove to Nook that he really was worth keeping around. After all, Benstripe Woods was not going to be the home of a bunch of slowpokes who did almost nothing but sat around and ate rabbits all day, growing fat as they did so. No. That was not how things were run here, and they were not about to change. If the pup could not prove his worth, then Shanook would simply tell him to leave, and if he was not gone by sunset, he would forfeit his freedom. ...He reminds me of myself

[M]oss noticed that the mighty wolven had drifted into a daydream for a quick moment. There was something in this brute's past that was something like his. He could sense it. But, the large frame's eyes flashed back into reality as he looked over Moss. Moss had fully expected him to ask him his name, but instead he introduced himself. Nook he called himself. Nook it would be. Moss instantly had instantly taken a liking to Shanook. To why, he quite was oblivious.
[H]e had not taken his eyes of the mighty Nook yet. He was quite confused at first when Nook flicked his ear with his tail tip at first, but the words he spoke next were quite helpful. As Shanook flew off, Moss stumbled to keep up. Finally getting a good grip on his paws again, he sped to keep up. Moss did a decent job for how small he was. Though, he still lagged greatly. When Nook slowed down to a walk, he sped even faster as before to get the gap to nothing. He knew Nook was giving him a chance to catch up and he would use it wisely. It took him only a few seconds to gain on the large Maned Wolf. He was soon right next to him.
[L]ooking up at Nook, he wondered if he would say something now. Maybe about how slow he was or something? He didn't know. The "rough" terrain under his pads were soothing to him as he clawed his way up with Nook. This was amazing and he loved it. [/blockquote]

Shanook When you get older... The young wolf had obviously taken the hint to make the gap between the two brutes nothing; it took him only a heartbeat, perhaps two, to catch up. His stride was long and powerful, and his muscles rippled beneath his still-soft puppy pelt. His eagerness earned the young brujo some points in Shanook's book.
"You're not as fast as I am, obviously, because of the difference in ages, but you are faster than I would have expected. I'm afraid you never told me your name, though."
Curiosity made Nook's pace quicken, but the much smaller he-wolf seemed to have no trouble at all in keeping up with him; he certainly seemed to feel right at home while climbing up the side of a steep, rugged mountain. Head and tail high, Shanook tore up the rocky terrain without looking back to make sure that his newly-found companion was keeping up with him; he would get there all in good time.
The sky up above was as bright and blue as ever, without a cloud to ruin its beauty. Birds sang in the ice-coated trees, and mist flew off in waves from the fast-moving current of the waterfall. It was a beautiful day, especially since the well-worn mountain-side path was used so often that there was hardly any ice for a wolf to slip and fall on.
After a few minutes of looking around at the scenery of his beautiful territory, Shanook finally made it to the very top of Benstripe Mountain. He panted only slightly from the effort of running up. It took only a moment or two for the massive brute to gather enough oxygen to address the younger brujo, who had just arrived at his side.
"Look down, and you will see all of Benstripe Woods." ...You may be my Beta ooc: it's baaaaaaaaaaaaaad

s the mighty figure of this King asked him his name and complimented him, he felt like he was home. In the mountains. This was perfection to him. Though, he had not seen much in his life other than a few places, so it would not be surprising that in such a young wolf's mind it was beautiful. Nook's compliments made him shiver with anticipation. He was just like his dad. Or at least what he thought his dad would be like. He had never met his dad, but his mother had told him some brief stories about him and none were to his liking. "My name with the full title is Moss of Mist Mountains, but only my mother called me that. I'm Moss." The pup was still quite sheepish around Nook, but he was growing to trust him full on. He was like the father he had never had. Moss was still at a tender age and whichever way he was going, up or down, could be changed by some proper molding to be whatever the caretaker of him would want him to be. Anything at all.
s Nook sped up from a walk to a brisk trot, Moss put some pressure on his back legs and sprung into jog. And then into a run to fallow the King of this terrain up his mountain. It was easy for him, being as a pup, he climbed up and down these types of mountains all day long.
[W]hen the duo reached the top of the snowy climb, Moss had to stop and pant a little bit before getting his heartbeat back to normal. As the massive brujo spoke, he fallowed the directions and looked down to the bottom of the mountain. Nook's territory seemed to stretch on forever and ever. "Woah..." One word was all he could manage to stammer out at the sight of the mountain and all of the territory that belonged to this powerful brujo.
[M]oss was so taken away from the sight of all of this. It was nothing like his mountains back at home. The Misty Mountains were covered in Mist. Even if they were beautiful, they did not get even close to amounting to this amazing sight. Looking up at the brute that had brought him here with his bright blue eyes, they questioned what to do next. What Nook wanted to do with the young brute. Stick him into imprisonment, or let him walk the King's territory as a free wolf was all up to the large Maned Wolf. No matter what Nook did, Moss would still look up to him so very greatly. This was the wolf he wanted to be like when he moved into adulthood. He wouldn't abandon those dreams. Nook must have been thinking about it this entire time, but he had not faltered once with hiding that. And he knew that Nook would understand what he was asking by just looking up at him and he seemed to think slightly. But, Moss was still a young pup and didn't understand how to read others expressions and such quite yet. ooc;; You think yous is bad? Point A for bad above.

ooc: my muse is pretty much gone from past events, so... why don't we just say that Nook invited him into the pack as a free wolf, and Moss says ya?
