Etch♥e
Etchie was led into the Auction Rock. Her spirits down but her head was held high, it had to be held high. If she dared lower it, who knew what the master wolf before her would do. The wolf was a deep rusty red with black points and gray all over. He wasn't anything special, and he led nobody special. But as the tiny Cocker Spaniel walked in a seemingly proud manner before all the other wolf masters and wolf slaves, she gained many stares. Compared to these brutes, Etchie was as delicate as a snowflake; her long slightly wavy fur, soft as silk, blew ethereally around her short legs. Dark eyes, large and innocent peered out from the large spots covering both sides of her face. Against the snow that blanketed the frozen earth, nothing but the dalmation spotting on her petite paws stuck out like pepper, and her stump of a tail, though very unusual among the dangerous, swift carnivores, was the center of attention.
She was a fair lass, bearing the color of ivory and dark sable shades. Her lengthy fur was darling and she looked to be quite the ragdoll. Etchie followed her master, feeling the eyes of all the masters upon her. What dreadful stares they must have been, for she shivered under their weight. In a moment her master spoke, and her amusingly long ears framing her soft, lovely face, perked forward as much as they could to listen to what he would say.
"Hear ye, hear ye! All ye masters with boring, dull slaves of one breed. See here I bring with me fresh blood from beyond Sobibor's borders. Yes, far beyond the borders." he gave a toothy grin and began to circle around his puppet, gesturing towards the different areas of her beauty as he went. In turn and right on cue, Etchie came to an abrupt halt and wearily waited for him to continue, with her rounded nose in the air. In truth she felt stupid, standing in a clearing still as a statue as a foreigner poked and prodded her with his pointy muzzle. And it was sickening the way the other masters stared at her with lusty gazes. Etchie sighed quietly.
"I say, do not be daunted or sway by her meek size of sixteen inches, she be swift and cunning as any wolf. Truly, she be a Cocker Spaniel, a rare breed of dog within this realm, with hunting skills to match our own. For nothing I hand her away, a virgin and untamed. If you dare, claim her as your own."
With that, the gangly master wolf took a seat beside his former slave and waited to see which master would be the first to grab her away. Many began taking a step forward, but were held back when her master snarled. He was no small canine and clearly meant to make them fight for her. The master to 'buy' her would have to have a swift tongue to get by without feeling the wolf's sharp fangs.
Desperately Etchie glanced off to the side and all around at the circle of wolves. Some looked monstrous and of ill intent, while others looked sweet and innocent. There was no gap in the lines, no escape. And not one dared to approach her with her nasty master guarding her. All she wanted was to get away from this slave beater, get away from wolves in general really. But what was the chance of that? She was doomed. No, Etchie vaguely shook her head and closed her eyes tight. She was not doomed, there was always hope for a poor soul in bad times. It just took a hero. Reopening her eyes and scanning the massive furry bodies encircling dog and wolf, there didn't seem to be any such hero in the vicinity. Is this truly all wolves were? She had heard stories of them, but never actually thought they were as cruel as in the fables. Guess she was wrong. Not a one was without scar or a bald patch. They all looked half starved and eager with wide, wild eyes.
Etchie's master suddenly snarled once more, and the small Cocker instinctively twisted her neck to stare over her shoulder at the daring canine who would approach such an intimidating wolf. She felt like a damsel in distress, and could only hope this new presence with such courage would be her hero or heroine.
The master let his mouth gape, and he growled loudly, "Who are you?"

Baldric One such as you...Baldric's lean muscular form slipped through the horse section of auction rock. He had no intention of looking for a horse slave and so traveled through quickly. Just as he was about to exit the field he heard a commotion. Turning back he looked curiously to see what could be going on. It was a strange sight indeed, a small strange looking creature was being led into the area by an arrogant master. The master spoke and Baldric stepped forward quickly after he was finished. He was about to speak to the wolf when he oh so crudely lunged at him. Sidestepping the larger wolf with ease he quickly took his paw and smashed it across the wolf's face. The stupid master whelped in pain and then looked as if he had lost consciousness. Stepping over him daintily Baldric stepped over to the lady and spoke soothingly,
My lady, I am sorry you had to see that, I swear to you I am not prone to violence. My calling is Baldric, but you may call me 'Ric. Normally I would ask for your calling but I'm afraid your circumstance is a bit different. Please let us go away from this wretched place before someone else, perhaps not as kind as I takes a hand at enslaving you.
He stepped closer to her and made menacing faces to the wolves gathering around them. Growling and snarling Baldric put on a spectacular show as he waited to see the lady's response. If she did not wish to go with him he would leave her here for he was not one to force someone away against their will. ...deserves to be in better company. ((ooc. is she supposed to be in the horse section?))

'I woke up to see the sun shining all around me, how could it shine down on me?'
Etchie watched the daring new wolf appear from the crowd and take down her master in what appeared to be a single swipe of his large paw. Etchie broke out of her solid stance and cowered in fear as the wolf approached her. She was deathly afraid of him, yet, when he spoke, he sounded kind. Rather, more kind than any wolf she had yet met. He seemed to be in a rush before anyone else challenged his authority. Etche merely nodded her petite head after he finished speaking and straightened out. Her stump of a tail wagged slowly in her desperation to be out of the slave house, but her heart held her back to following this stranger to who knew where. He was, after all, a dangerous wolf come to claim her as his slave. Etchie withheld the urge to run away and took a step back, staring into Baldric's friendly eyes with her own softly shimmering ones, they held a look of much bewilderment.
"Sir, who am I to go running off into the woods with a stranger? I question your motives."
Etchie began sidestepping around the brute, her eyes caught a gap in the disintegrating circle of onlookers. Many masters were beginning to depart, but some held back, no doubt to watch the outcome of this meeting, or to try their hand at claiming her as well. Etchie knew she was fast, just as fast as these louts, but just glimpsing at these wild things made the Cocker Spaniel's heart quiver and her head feel light. Even now, in the very face of her fear, her vision was dizzy and her legs began to falter and stumble over her great amount of fur which draped heavily over the dog's small form.
'You'd think that it would notice I can't take anymore. Just had to ask myself, what's it really for?'

Baldric saw the lady's eyes shift to a break in the crowd of wolves. He moved off to the side of to one side of the ever widening hole. It seemed his reputation had grown since no wolf dared challenge him. True he was a bit smaller than most of the mammoth wolves of Sobibor but he was no softie in battle. He abhorred fighting though and would rather just leave well enough alone.
M'lady I wish you no harm. If you wish you may walk from this place and try to cope in this land. I am not the sort to keep others against their will. But if you should ever need shelter my home, Shechem, is open to you. Everyone of a good heart is welcome their.
His eyes took on a dreamy look as he thought of his vast and beautiful lands. Dragging his attention back to the little female and his gaze was kind and benevolent. He rested his rump gently on the rough surface of the ground and once again waited for her to answer. ((ooc. Sorry for the suckish post.))

Etchie furrowed her brows and frowned in contemplation. It was true that if she attempted escape, she'd just be caught again. Her hunting prowess were in fact equal to a wolves, but her short legs could only keep her steadfast for so long, and her sense of hearing was a little off. But to be owned by a wolf Master. Such a concept as slavery had never been introduced to her people or homeland. He did appear rather kind though...
"Am I to believe this is not some trickery to sway me into a trap? Will I be safe?"
She inquired, looking deep into his eyes, searching for some sort of opposite personality. She couldn't say she found anything malevolent, but he did have pretty eyes. Etchie abruptly looked off to the side, waiting for his reply. She had stopped cowering and sat like a royal lady, waiting for her prince. Well... he wasn't much of a prince, but perhaps he could help her live in this new environment filled with danger and large beasties.
Ooc: Too short, I am ashamed. >.<

Baldric dipped his regal head, and smiled genuinely. The small lassie had pluck he would give her that. He had never met such as her, he looked about and to his great relief saw that many had lost interest in the strange pair after it had become obvious Baldric was not giving up this lady to the wiles of some maniac brute. Parting his lips soft words rolled from his mouth,
Ah, my lady, bold words for one such as you. I admire that. As for proof that I will not harm you that I cannot give, I am afraid. I can only hope to earn your trust.
He bowed deeply his head coming below the lady's small head. A sparkle could be seen in his eyes as he spoke genuine truth. Baldric was a good wolf, and always would be, nothing could change that. His mother had raised him to be a proper gentleman and he would do everything in his power to save this damsel in distress. ((ooc. Sorry for the wait, AND the suckish post. I got distracted with Monopoly, lol...))
