Jewl climbed up the canyon with her hoofs clicking against the hard rock. She looked around for any stallions and when she didnt spot any she winnied and reared, annoucing to the world she was here and was ready to be in a herd. She landed and started eating the gresses, waiting for anyone to come. She kept her ears scanning around her, sensitive to the tiniest sounds of the grassy canyon and the stream.

Thirst burned at the back of his throat, his desire for water and hydration the only thing on his mind, propelling him forward in an attempt to find some source of water. It was his own fault really, he hadn't gone to find water earlier, and so now he was desperate for it, and moving at speed to acquire it. Striker held his head high, bringing his legs up close to his bodice and flinging them out again at each step, his tail lifted and swaying in time with his pace, indicating his rush.
Suddenly the soft trickling sounds of the slow running stream became louder, and so he halted for a few moments, auds flicking back and fourth to detect where exactly it was. Catching the noise again suddenly, he struck out at the ground with his hind feet, cantering quickly, but carefully, over the rough terrain toward where he knew the water to be, seeing it finally.
Not oblivious to Jewl's presence, just unbothered by it, he dashed over to the waters edge, lowering his muzzle into the cool liquid, gulping it down greedily for fear of never being able to taste it again. As he noted the mares presence, he looked up as he drank, glancing her way curiously, only once lifting his nose from the stream to breathe, silently keeping a slight distance from her.

Jewl looked at the stallion with watchful eyes. She nickered lightly to him and swished her tail. She walked a few steps towards him and called to him, "Hello, Im Jewl. Whats your name?" She flicked her head up and kept one ear towards him and the other one scanning. She wind made her tail and mane blow gently in the breeze. Her palomino pelt was had a shine to it in the afternoon sun.

His auds pricked up and flicked instantaneously into her direction at the sound of her call, she was a pretty flicka, but she looked to be the more typical image of kindness. Especially more so than himself, who although loving and soft, had been mistaken for a cruel hellion, and been dealt with rather nastily by others. Finally he let himself lift his muzzle from the stream, his throat still slightly dry, but he knew he would just have to wait and let it be for awhile. Her question provoked an answer from him, and although he paused for a moment, he spoke.
"Striker, dear fae." His vocals told her softly, his dark, almost innocent eyes watching watching her as carefully as she watched him. He was not nervous, and that another could tell from watching him, but he was a confusing beast, as he was not arrogant and pushy either, he was quiet, but incredibly confident of himself.

Jewl walked a few steps closer and replied, " Hello Striker, I am Jewl. I have no family or herd. I have no friends. I am all alone. What about you, sir?" Jewl looked at him and he looked a little scary, or could it have been meanness in his body. Right from his first words she knew he was not like an angry or hurtful slave master. He was probably just a free-roamer like herself.
