The twilight was silent. Nothing stirred against the inky back drop, like the empty canvass of some uninspired artist. Soft sounds of sleep came from the other lone faes that had gathered together so that sleep found them easier. However the dunn dove slipped away from the easy sleepers and wandered slowly onto the shimmering beach. The dry sand caked her ebony hooves as she decended to the water's edge. Ever sense she was a young filly she'd always had an infatuation with water. Ever loving the silky feel over it as it tear dropped over her bodice.
The twinkle of the moons bright face reflected like a million submerged diamonds as the waves rippled the tranquil surface. Ebon pools sighted down the beach to the left, then ever so slowly to the right. All was peaceful, not a beast stirred. Or as far as she could tell she was truely alone. The time when her beast of thought would burden her the most, shaking her delicate skull before entering the chilled liquid. Her onyx limbs sunk slightly into the submerged sands, that didn't stop her onward motion as she slipped into the water till she could swim freely. Muscular pillars surged giving the boyant body forward motion, as well as the freedom that Rasta so much enjoyed.
Before long the icy water began to take it's tole on the young dove causing her muscules to start to burn and cramp up. So her time of freedom came to an end all to soon for her liking but never the less she exited the water and stood shivering and panting upon the sandy beach.

Skylark trotted along the beach's shoreline as he did so frequently. Daggers seemed to attack the sand, churning up the area that was behind him. It was only to be erased by the ocean when high tide came in. His fiery chestnut coat was lightly dappled with sweat from his long excrusion. He always looked for new recruits, every day. Even if it left him tired and sore from such a long run, he knew that it was worth it.
Finally, his almond orbs caught a young filly, shivering with cold. The femme had been swimming in the ocean - something he had never seen nor attempted. At night, the ocean waters were rather cold, even in the warm summer. Finally, he was close enough to the mare to talk. Hooves dug into the sand and his motion ceased. "Greetings. I am Skylark, a free roaming stallion. What would your name be? Are you okay?" She looked to be in a bad state, shivering and panting. The chestnut stag was standing fetlock-deep in the water, each chilled wave lapping over his legs. The water felt good on his aching joints.
He looked up at the sky that surrounded them. It was like an ebony painter's canvas that had been rudely splattered upon with some white blots that shone like diamonds. Skylark was fascinated by the heavens above, and always wondered what was actually up there. Would they ever reach the sky in their neverending gallops?

The waves continued to crash aginst the sandy beach as Rasta shook roughly. Her pelt finally almost dry. Twin sets perked quickly at the sounds of an approaching being, the way the footfalls sounded they were of the equine decent. A soft snort escaped her nares as she pulled her neck up quickly making herself look bigger than she actually was. Just in case a rude stag happened to be the one that belonged to the hoof falls. As he spoke to her, Rasta's dark orbs drifted over his body before she answered him. "Thank you, I'm fine. It's just a little chilly after a good swim." Smirking slightly as she shook one more time, her earthy plume fluttering lightly back aginst her neck. "I am Rasta. Pleasure to meet you Skylark."

The stallion's red coat had a dark tinge to it in the moonlight. His long mane covered most of his neck. It was covered in twigs and thorns, from his ragged run here. He listened to her polite speech. She was obviously a free-roamer, being at the Liberty Shores. Would she join his ranks as a slave freeing horse? He ran his liquid brown orbs over her slight frame. With time, she might make quite an agile fighter.
His words rang out into the night, proud and clear. "Very nice to meet you. Are you claimed, Rasta? My home, Canaa, is looking for some horses that are against slaves. We fight to free the ones shackled by cruel owners. Would you like to join?" It all came out almost too fast. He needed to get back to Canaa as soon as possible. Masters were beginning to get angry at his efforts and fighting could break out soon. If Skylark's herd didn't begin to grow faster, then it would fail and break during these upcoming battles. All that he could do was hope that the other horses would understand his cause and join in.

The moonlight caused the sand beneath her hooves to sparkle like millions of tiny diamonds, beautiful in each their own way. Rasta stood quietly for a moment thinking over his words. She, herself, had never been around slaves and she wasn't sure what it was all about. Only the stories that had been told to her on occasion, they had all been bad. She nodded her skull and looked up at him. "Yes I do believe that it is something that needs to be taken care of Skylark. I will join in your cause." Her words were truely spoken from her heart. She would train and become a warrior for this titan...everyone had a reason to live and this was as good a reason as any. Fighting for the right that others might live and free life as she had from day one.
Rasta's left front limb struck out at the sand causing it to be tossed aginst her chest and limbs. She silently awaited this stallion's lead back to his home lands...this would surely bring her life purpose and that was what she needed.
