The deep luscious air of the forest was pure and healing, soft in her throat and lungs, giving her strength and energy as she ploughed on, having adopted the floaty two beat pace that wolves were blessed with. The ground, though moist, was comfortable under her worn pads, cushioning each foot fall as her paws landed in diagonal pairs. Her snout lifted from the scent filled earthen floor, a loud snort sounding from her as she felt a sudden prick of irritation. The feeling stopped as soon as it had started, and she carried on with her exploration of this new land she intented to call ‘home’.
Her mother, after her father had been killed, had told her about many different lands, but she had made a point of telling her daughter that this one was the most prosperous, and that it was the best one in which to raise a family and protect a pack. Sabine was a master, and though at first glance, her beautiful yet commando tough, and perhaps even butch appearance made you think she was nasty, she was in fact a very kind hearted individual. She was clever enough to know that to keep others from harm, you had to play the dark game that everyone else played, and so she was a master herself, but intent on selecting wolves which she could live with and rule over fairly.
Boredom made her pick up her pace incredibly, causing her to reach her destination far quicker than she had bargained, though of course this was not a bad thing. The crimson rock came into her view, one among many of the reasons for her quest into this land, and so she halted, her fur ruffled by a passing breeze, the leaves on the trees shivering above her, as if they anticipated some great calling or something. Well, she just hoped she didn’t disappoint them, not that she tended to take a notice of what others thought anyway. Slowly, walking now to conserve her energy, she wandered over to the little stream beneath the rock, lowering her muzzle to the water, snorting some of the liquid from her nose, before lapping at it hurriedly, drinking a lot.
She lifted her head, her eyes watching all the time for others and predators, though really as a wolf she had no natural predators, no wolf did, except another of her kin. Wolves were sly beasts, and it was not uncommon for them to kill or harm their own, she had seen enough of it in her life time to realise that. Her haunches desended to the ground, seated carefully as she threw her head back, howling sharply into the passing wind. The sound of her voice was eery, frightening but clear, she claimed this land as her very own, to lead a pack here and treat it with respect. [/color][/blockquote]
