"No!" I screamed at no one you can see. I dug my paws into my head and fell to the ground in bursts of wails. Pain engulfed my ears. Someone was killed, I could feel it. I gasped and tried to regain my figure but it would go. The sound of the wails pierced my ears. I shook me head. This gift, why was it called a gift? It was anything but that, it wasn't happyness, and sometimes gave me pain and dispair. Why did peole insist on calling it a gift? I was too young and inexperianced with the gift. I was told that when I was older I would be able to block out certain thoughts, I could a bit, I could channel to one but when I wasn't paying attention to a certain heartstring, I would be stuck hearing mumbles of anything. The most painful always was the loudest.

It wasn't that I didn't appreciate my dream, it was just that..I was angry sometimes at it. I hated hearing the pain, sometimes it was interesting though. I could know the personality and past of anyone I meet, but channeling there heartstring out from the rest and attaching myself to it, lstening.It was hard to explain really.

I pushed my head and body up so I was upright and wiped away the tears. They where dead, whomever I heard was dead. The silence was worse than the wails. I sighed and tried to pinpoint a heartstring of someone I know. To do that I would close my eyes and my ears would be like eyes, telling who's heart I heard. Watcher would have had a gift involving her eyes and Seeker would have the ability to find things easily. If they lived. We were supposed to be the Talented trio. But it was just me. I was seeked sometimes by a mixture of the good and the bad. Some wanted pups with powers, they don't understand most of my pups would turn out normal. or they wanted to know of something they forgot. Either way, I couldn't fight my fate

Sano's black ears twitched back and forth. 'What was that' He thought calmly to himself. He had heard someone scream. Loping off into the direction of the scream he had both ears forward and his tail still behind him. As he got closer he could hear the screams become louder. Walking up to a femme who currently had her eyes closed. "Hello miss is something wrong?" He questioned her. He saw no scares or marks no blood but still he had heard her screaming in what sounded like pain. Moving a step closer he had all of his senses locked onto her.

I took a step back in surprise, opening my eyes. He spoke to me, no I didn't hear another string, there was a fellow wolf infront of me. I closed my eyes again and twitched mears. Grasping his heartstring quickly. I found he was actually concered, I decided not to dig deeper, heartstrings got annoying that way.

"Nothing you need to be concerned about, personnel problems. And no,I am not bleeding or scratched."

If I hadn't heard that from the heartstring, I problably just assumed that was what he was thinking.Wouldn't it always be?

Sano looked surprised. "Ah okay well what are you doing out here all alone?" He asked sort of confused in how he thought she was bleeding or scratched. "Im Sano by the way." He smiled at her all concern gone and his blue eyes shining.

He sat down on his haunches and wagged his tail back and forth slightly on the ground. His white claws obvously stood out from his rich black coat. He was proud of bieng different.

I blinked and closed my eyes again. This time I grasped the deeper heartstring, Simple puphood, not too loose or too cruel. I opened my eyes and smiled.

"Um..Nerra."

I lied, my fake name had to be used until I could get the recent heartstring,that wouldn't be happening yet. I need to grasp it in a bit later, maybe he'd get my real name then. Nerra was for now, just in case he was some cruel master or another who wanted my pup.

Sano smiled at the fea. "Nerra" He said testing it out on his tongue. He noticed she paused before giving her name but ignored it. He grinned at the fea but he stayed where he was. "So Nerra what are you doing here alone?" He asked. He cocked his head to the side but the grin was still in place. He was uncertain about this fea he had a feeling that she was lying to him but he shrugged the feeling off and focused on the femme.

He looked a bit suspioucios of my name. Too bad. I quickly thought of a lie in my head, he wasn't ready to learn I was reallly Listener. I grinned and uneasy grin and spoke.

"I um.. I was being chased by a master, I'm a free roamer. I managed to escape."

I lied through my sharp teeth. Exaiming him to see if he noticed. I twitched my ears in the same fashion, so they got a bit larger. I closed my eyes and grasped his recent heartstring, Suspioucius.

Sano looked at her not really beiliving but agreed to it. "Chased by a master" He shook his head. "Those master's don't know when to stop" He said. Sano smiled at her. "On a lighter note i'm glad you escaped the master." He had sat down on his black haunches and was currently swishing his tail slowly back and forth. He smiled at Nerra his eyes shining blue. His white claws stood out.

"I lied. My name's Listener."

I almost hoped he didn't know who I was. Most wolves did though. They always inquired where I was to bear my pups. To hurt me, I was too..perfect was I was told once. I watched him and sunk my head down. Taking a step backwards.

"I wasn't running from a master like I always do. I was listening to a heartstring okay? Yes, I am the freaken Listener FREAK!"

I don't know why that came out of my maw. It was truly how I felt.

Sano was taken aback. "Uh just calm down" He took a step away from her. "Okay it's okay you lied about your name though i dont know why you would it's such a pretty name" He said adding a smile. "But what do you mean listening to a heartstring." He was very interested in what she was saying but was surprised by her sudden outburst. He didnt understand why she would lie to him.

I watched him. He hadn't heard about me. That was rare. I looked at him suspicous. My deep amber eyes filled with frustration.

"We all have heartstrings. They are our souls and they tell our past and how you feel. I can grasp them with my ears and listen. I call it listening to your heartsong."

I watched him and took a step back. I sat and my eyes closed. My ears perked to the side and I listened to his. He was confused. I opened my eyes

Sano just looked at the femme. "Uh well okay i guess" he was more confused then ever now. "What does my heartsong say?" He wanted to know if what she was saying was true. He took a step closer to her only becouse he was so interested. So she was the listener big deal it's a cool trick nothin to fight over or anything he thought to himself. The wolfess infront of him seemed so jumpy and untrusting.

I didn't let him near me. My amber eyes flashed. I would take a step back. I licked my lips and closed my eyes. I grasped the heartstring. I pulled too hard though.'

When that happens. I'm him. Well as a pup, I was targetting that age. I looked around. A mother was infront of me. His I suppose. I could feel her lapping my fur. I let it in for a moment. He was so lucky. I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I don't know if he had. I saw another pelt. The father I think. He looked an odd expression than it changed when it saw me. I wanted to cry. His puphood. It was so perfect.

The heartstring let go of me. In the real world I must have fallen to my side. My eyes flashed open.

"Why the hell did you leave home?"

Sano's expression soon changed. "Excuse me?" He said as politly as he could. He took another step closer his eyes full of confusion. "What do you mean?" He wasn't sure what she was talking about. Was she talking about leaving The Black Forest? No she couldn't have it wasn't that far away. "What are you talking about Listener?" He was so confused she just collapsed then starts screaming at him and he didn't know why.

"I tugged your heartstring too hard so I was you as a pup in your past. Your parents were so nice. Why did you leave? I wouldn't have."

He was so lucky from what I saw. A nice home, loving parents. I wasn't so lucky, my mum and my siblings murdered and had to roam with my dad. Who died infront of me when a master attacked to get me. I looked at him, anger was still tinting my expression
