Demon
Niaphell was not a particularly long way away from Auction Rock in terms of how far away the lands could be. A strong horse such as Demon could easily make a journey to and from Auction Rock in the daylight but this time it had been different. Although payment for his new slave had been much easier to find, his stop at the Love and Lust fields had added much time to his journey and then that d*mn horse had been so slow. Thankfully Rose was not quite as slow as the other annoying mare but even so they had had to stop for the night just outside the borders of Niaphell. They climbed up to the top of a small hill to the west of the woods of Niaphell which did not provide the most comfortable grass but was high enough to escape the damp fog the curled beneath them.He had chuckled darkly with laughter and closed his eyes but those who were more attentive would have seen his hoof was always over the chain that clung around Rose's neck and his eyes were never completely shut. Nay, that night Demon did not sleep a wink.
Demon remembered the few words he had spoken to Rose just before they slept explaining why they didn't enter the woods. "What you see in front of you is the border of my land. The woods that shall be your cage for who knows how many years. Even I, Master of Niaphell will not travel through these woods by night. Night is when the fog is at it's thickest and the path can be so easily lost."
It was only when the sun began to rise over the gnarled trees of Niaphell that Demon began to shift, his legs stretching as if he had actually let his body rest that night. He lifted Rose's chain and tugged sharply snarling, "Come now! We have a busy day ahead of us and your laziness will not put me behind schedule." Yes, Demon had a lot planned. He was intent on making sure that this horse knew Niaphell through and through by the end of the day and if possible he wanted to show her a bit of the woods as well. The clearing would be his main concern but he didn't fancy the thought of his second slave running off into the woods in some mad dash for freedom. The woods were cunning and wicked and the chances of her surviving were lower than she could imagine. No, he wanted to fit in a little education about the woods as well before she decided to do anything too rash for his liking.[/blockquote]
