[({madrid})] .x.i.x.have.x.searched.x.so.x.long.x.She had searched, and she had thought she had found. But all for naught. Now she was searching again, homeless, wandering, driven out by the horrible curse, the sickness. It must not take her, she must not die. To perish in her moment of glory would have been unacceptable; to die, just as she had finally found peace, would have been the worst sort of torture. And so she fled, for horses were dieing everywhere, bodies lay dead everywhere, not buried, left to rot, and infect the gore-crows and any who touched them.
And so she had fled, seeking shelter, and knowing that now, shelter would be hard to find. She had left Akakios, her new home, with terror in her heart and dread in her soul. For, she thought, how could she find any sort of shelter? Yes, others where dieing, the population shrinking at an incredible rate, but still, only three small lands? Even with the smaller amount of creatures to fill them, surely she could not find living space among them.
So she fled. She raced away from it all, from the death, from the carnage. It must not take her. She must live, she must live. So much of her life, unfulfilled. So little peace, so little harmony. A time of it, at her beginning, but then that had been ripped away, and by her own kin. And then constant terror, constant agony. The time as a slave, horrible, bloody, and terrifying. But she had survived that, and this gave her hope, a tiny spark, which light the darkness of terror. Surely, having survived that curse, she could survive this one as well?
And then wandering. A stretch of time when her only goal had been to find, again, the peace she had had at the beginning of her life, to find once more harmony and a quiet, happy life. And she had had it, for a brief flash of time, in Akakios. And then, once more, it had been ripped, torn apart, by tragedy. And now, once again, she searched for something she had had only twice: a home.
And so Madrid wandered once more, her lovely golden coat befouled and muddy, her dark-chocolate legs bloody and oozing, her gorgeous, long, sandy mane and tail matted, filled with brambles and filth. She had skirted two borders so far, and neither had been close to what she wanted to live in. A forest? Bah! Even from the border she could see the brambles, and she had enough of those already. And the other? All she had seen was fog. She wanted to see the land she lived in, thankyouverymuch. But the third land, the one on whose border she now stood, was intriguing. Peat bogs were scattered in front of Madi's lovely Andalusian frame, but she could smell it- deeper into this territory, she was certain, was a meadow. And many, many flowers- lavender flowers.
And so, she decided she might at least journey into the land, and meet its ruler, as it was certainly the most welcoming territory she'd seen so far. So she began to step carefully between the bogs, looking carefully before she placed her feet. Navigating carefully, she finally made it through the treacherous marsh and she was immediately hit with the sweet smell of lavender. The little purple flowers were all around her, and she simply stood there, knowing that the ruler here had probably already smelled her and was most likely on their way to investigate. So she simply stood there in the lavender field, aware that maybe she'd found a true home at last.

Chastity
The lavender scented fields overpowerd almost every other smell, masking the foul smelling peat bogs and rotting vegitation of the outer most reaches of the land, but they could never mask that of an equine. My nostrils flared at the scent, I had got to know by heart the smells of my small herd, and this was deffinatly an alien scent. I snorted once and lifted my head in one smooth and regal gesture. The small purple hued flowers surrounded me, kissing my legs gently as they swayed in the breeze.
My chocolate lamps soon caught sight of the one that had wandered into my realm, a female stood knee high within the vast field carpeted with lavender, her visage was one of despair and loss. Mud spattered her hide, and I could taste the metallic blood upon the breeze. I hesitated to move, what if she carried the disease that was spreading rapidly through the other lands? How could I allow her to befoul my herd and lands?
I stared at the femael for quite some time, assessing the situation. Finally I made a move, slow, hesitent steps towards the golden horse, yet I still managed to keep the baring and confidence of the leader I was. With the gap closed a little I was able to address her.
"You have entered the borders of Lavender Moors uninvited friend. I am the leader of this land, I suggest you tell me why you have sought me out and how long you have been wandering alone?"
I had seen the quickness of the disease and knew that if she had not been in contact with another horse for a few days then she would more than likely be clear, then the question remained as to why she had felt she could enter another equines lands without permission.

Madi's eyes snapped open and she looked warily at the other horse. Brown eyes met brown eyes as Madi held the gaze of the newcomer. The leader, she figured, due to the way the mare carried her body. She was black and white, with lovely chocolate eyes. Rather short as well, but she looked a little wary and, to be honest, a bit dangerous.
"You have entered the borders of Lavender Moors uninvited friend. I am the leader of this land, I suggest you tell me why you have sought me out and how long you have been wandering alone?"
Madrid snorted. Peace, she nickered. I do not carry the illness. I have had no contact with any horse, living or dead, besides you in over two weeks. I am homeless, and come seekig a home, but if you try to enslave me- And at this she snorted and pawed, her eyes flashing- I will run. Now Madi carefully paced closer to the other mare, the leader. She was intrugued by this mare. She had the size and shape of a large pony or perhaps a very small horse, but was obviously still fiercely protective of her land- and that was another odd thing: HER land. Normally it was only stallions with lands, not that Madi was angry or anything about a little girl power. All in all, she was secretly very impressed with this mare, and waited eagerly for her reply.

Chastity
I watched the mare, assessing her as she made her speach. It didn't seem like she was here because of a delerium come about by illness, or that she wanted to cause trouble. Seemingly she just wanted a home. My chocolate eyes softened, muscles relaxed a little and my ears twitched from their static perch atop my head. She wasn't a slave, but she was in need all the same, and I had made an oath to myself to try and help as many as I could.
Her words of slavery bought me back from my momentary lapse of concentration. It was obvious why this femme had been led here. Yes, I believed that a higher power guided us, and that she had been directed here by unseen hands to seek sanctuary within my peace filled borders. My only reserve was that yet another female had entered the herd. I would need to aquire some males, and pretty soon.
"Fear not, I have no intentions of casting a chain about your neck. If you join my herd you will be free to roam."
I flicked my tail absentmindedly, the lavender brushed against my legs as the breeze played about it's scented flowers, releasing a most intoxicating smell that seemed to linger upon all the horses that dwelled here. I could never refuse a safe haven for one who had travelled so far to find me.
"Very well, you may join the herd. My name is Chastity Ehren and I am the Queen of this land. I must tell you that ranks within the herd will not be easily claimed and you will have to prove yourself worthy. However, you still have your freedom to come and go as you please."
I was beginning to feel the burdons of leadership without that hand picked council that every herd had. But I would not allow just anyone to ascend, a little hard work and determination was required, along with loyalty and love.
