They hadn't believed his tale, but then again, why should they? He was a lowly a slave who had a deceiving tongue that none wanted to believe. Or would believe.
He had gone out for a hunt, gone after a rather fleet of foot deer, only to get lost along the way and he could not remember the way back to his previous Master, nor her territory. Next thing he knew he was traveling in the wrong direction, he was completely lost and months had flew by and suddenly a disease swept the land. It was strange seeing the lands so- so... Empty.
Goose huddled tighter into ball, his small tail tickling his nose. Having gotten lost and the stupid things he had done trying to get back, for lack of a better word- home. Now he was in the darkness on his own. His third night at the Rock. Though it was no surprise to him, he couldn't run forever, no- he couldn't. The dreaded rock. He might have been able to pick up his search again, and try to find Blue. She had to be around. She was strong, a survivor.
The chain chaffed around his neck and he groaned, trying to stay as still as he could, the chain was attached to a heavy looking rock. The clouds ghosted silently over the moon, shutting out it's light and leaving the earth below doused in inky blackness. When it revealed itself once again, Goose always sighed with relief, every time thinking the moon wouldn't come back when a cloud passed overhead. It was late, yet this did not stop the Master's from coming and seeing what sort of stock was at the Rock. Who knew? There might be a new load of slaves come in, or a few dirty handed deals going down once the sun set.
Red wolf reflected on the somewhat easy life he had had with Blue, and as his nightly vigil continued, not having slept decently since he had been returned to the darned Rock. His eyes began to slowly close, nose twitched in the darkness. His muddied coat allowing him to blend, however far from it, seamlessly into the Earth on which he rested. Sighing in such a manner that it seemed like he was giving up on ever getting out, Goose remembered why he had ever come to this place.
Managing to mumble the words aloud before he dropped into a light doze, "Why I'm here? Good behavior..."
