Yes. You privileged few are the first ones to hear of Image's master plan. Ok, so maybe not so dramatic, but I have come up with a plan for a new Sim/RPG. Just tell me your thoughts. I've always thought over the idea of running a horse sim on proboards that featured owning your own barn and competing with virtual horses from all over the virtual "world". Finally I have set aside time to plan and allow the members of Sobibor to help me in this planning period. So here are my ideas, which mind you are mine and mine alone, and I wish for your responses, such as if you would join, what you would want as special features and so on. I will only make the site should it have the ability to prosper.
As for a name, I don't really know yet. Farther down I'll keep record, but for now it goes unnamed. I've got to find just the right one since names are so important to me.
For gameplay, you would sign up with your regular online name , Image as mine, and members would be able to start out with one, single horse. There would be three default barns of which new members could join, and they would show for that barn, slowly gaining experience as a "rider". Each barn would have different requirements and so on. There would be two default stores, of which they would sell different items at different prices. Once buying the type of food, bedding and other necessities needed to run a life with your horse, you could get a job working at one of the stores, or one of the other facilities around town, ex. Veterinarians office, farrier's assistant, racetrack exerciser, and many more. Money would be paid every Sunday, and each member would start off with 50,000 dollars.
Horses would gain different stats from the different training and foods he/she was given, and the parents that sired them would contribute traits, should you opt to breed. All players could choose from a default horse, randomly selected from a hat. They could choose the horse's breed, but colors would not be allowed selection. OR. They could go to one of the auctions and buy another player's horse.
Shows would be placed every Saturday, or every other Saturday --undecided as of yet. Classes would rank like so: AA, A, B, C, & D. Depending on your horse's specific main level, the special trait points, your horse's training, and what class you've been entered, your horse would have a greater or lesser chance of winning that class. Class fees would range anywhere from 20 to 200 dollars, depending on whether you entered a novice beginners class or entered the grand prix held at the end of the showing year. Winning a show would result in a money prize and a ribbon/trophy, which would then be placed on your horse's page. Place would go through to third.
Finally, breeding would be allowed, and you could choose from other stable's sires, or some of your own. All have fees, but your own horses would cost considerably less. Each horse would have their own page recording all their stats and so on. Players would be able to freely name their horses, as long as no obscene names were placed.
Wait! I forgot. This would be either show jumping or dressage--but I think dressage would be more of a hassle than dressage. Plus I think show jumping is more exciting; but each to his own. This is a main thing, so please tell me whether you would like to do dressage or show jumping. Right now I'm going to say I will not be doing western, given that I just don' like it. I'm an English girl and I think I'll have more fun making it that way. I thought about cross country, but i don't know how many people would be interested in that. Racing is a possibility, but that could be very controversial with injuries and stuff. Just let me know.
Also, depending on what sport it is, there would be group that went to a World Cup, competing against themselves for the title of best rider and horse for that year. It can only be won once, and is considered a horse's greatest achievement. Breed from a horse that has won the World Cup and the stats will eb doubled at birth, or something fancy like that. <33
So I think that just about covers it; I prolly left somethings out because I'm trying to think too fast at once. Throw me some ideas too! I'll be looking for staff members as well, along with some good graphic people.
THANKS!
