Magneto’s Brotherhood has, for some reason, stopped being a threat. Though they are still banded together, they have not attacked humanity in over two years. The humans themselves have come to accept, for the most part, the mutant community. Though there is still some doubt, and tempers flare when a potentially harmful power suddenly develops, there is no real problem.
However, people are still on their toes. Just because Magneto hasn’t been any trouble doesn’t mean that he won’t be at some point. And though there is no fighting currently, there is some tension in parts of the country where prejudice tends to run deep.
But the school is peaceful for the moment. Classes are starting up again soon and many of the X-Men team is changing their spandex in for text books and desks. Not a bad life really. The teachers seem to be the only ones on edge; students blissfully unaware of the threat that still crouches on the horizon. Good thing they are still being trained and taught the Xavier way; who knows when it might come in handy.
