How long had see been wandering through these caverns, following the sent of that nameless stallion that had claimed her earlier? A few minutes, perhaps an hour, she guess. But she was far from tired. Patient only due to her curiousity, she allowed her limbs to carry her further into the brutes land and her new home. The only sound she could hear was the sound of her own hooves beating against the ground. Having been in silence for so long, the sound seemed quite loud to the Paint mare. But she continued on, eyes taking in the things around her as she went. She kept her walk at a quick speed, still making sure to take in the look of the land, however.
She had to admit, the area did have a eerie feel to it, more than likely where it's name had come from. But she had certainly grown used to it by now. It hadn't necessarily spooked her all that much at all to begin with. The mare had just felt slightly...odd. indescribable, even. But she had already grown used to the feel of the place, and now continued on as if she was used to being in this place. The whole time her eyes were searching for the stallion that had claimed her, her auds perked forward, listening.

Ah yes here she was, his newest arrival. The large hellion sauntered his way into his lands, not long after his most recent acquaintance had arrived. Everything was slowly falling into place, he now had a land upon which to live, and upon which this herd would grow. And by far, the most pleasing thing about his caves, were that no matter how hard the sun pelted down, the rock remained cool and comfortable. Such was a far cry from his previous abode within the desert, he swooned with his new living space, seeing it as a luxury of some sort.
His movement was quiet, he wasn't really one to offer a nicker or snort, but he soon caught up with the new, mottled female, drawing within a few feet of her lithe frame. " Ah, so you've got the sense enough to find this place." His voice slightly sarcastic. " What do you think, dear, of your new abode? " He looked around, eying the perpetually sickly looking trees, the hazy layer of fog that never seemed to completely go away, the looming mouths of quiet, eerie caverns. A lovely place, perhaps not the best to live...the food supply was meager, but the water was fresh. His gaze returned to the female, watching. [/blockquote]

The mare had not wandered on much longer before she heard the now familiar voice of the stallion that had claimed her. She stopped, her auds perked forward, and turned her head towards him. Another might have been startled by his voice. But Hurricane, being the calm mare she was, did not flinch or jump. She did admit it had surprised her a tad bit, but did not spook her. She chuckled ever so slightly at his words about her finding the place. "Yes, well, it was a bit easy to do, if I say so myself. But then again, that is simply me." She said.
She looked around once more as he questioned her on her liking of the area. She smiled slightly when hearing the 'dear' park of his sentence, letting her blue eyes wander around the land before looking back to the nameless stallion. "I like it." She said, nodding her head slightly. "A lot." The mare added, telling the truth. She was already starting to grow used to the land, and was even starting to take a liking to the place. The eerie feel about it seemed to fly straight past her, which she appreciated.

His nostrils quivered with the subtle, but obvious change in the air now that there were living creatures around...Most of the wildlife such as deer, or even the squirrels didn't hang around too long once the wolves started their chilling chorus, but it kept the mind sharp, it made you feel alive..." I am glad you like it.." He offered, his mind not completely with the present. He swished his tail, as if in habit, because it seemed the mosquitoes and flies didn't even want to bother with this place...all the more perfect as far as he was concerned.
" So ,love, how was it that you ended up being sold off as some breathing object anyway? " He asked bluntly. He never was one to pry too much, or even strike up a conversation, but it felt appropriate to learn something more about his herd members, tie the strong bonds before things got chaotic. His deep gaze, cold without expression, settled upon her oceanic eyes, ears flickered slightly, weight shifting. Without words, the land was nearly silent, only a few summer insects chirped away, and the cry of birds was far and in-between. [/blockquote]

Ah, Hurricane had been expecting this question. Not that she minded; no, not at all, in fact. She would gladly answer any question thrown at her by nearly anyone. Shifting her weight slightly, the Paint mare thought for a moment before replying. "My old master got tired of me. Or more so, of my spirit." She answered calmly. "He didn't like the fact he couldn't make me or break me, no matter what. He supposedly got tired of how calm I was all of the time, as well. Which I find ridiculous. Seeing as he'd rather want a horse that did everything kicking and screaming, I'd easily call him insane." She answered.
She did, in fact, find him a little out of his mind. He had wanted slaves for the sheer amusement of torturing them. But when Hurricane truly thought about it, was that not what they were there for? Amusement, no matter how cruel and insane they may have possibly been. Though the mare hated this fact, it was indeed just that: a fact. And one of life, at that. She had learned long ago to deal with it, despite how much she disliked it.

He remained expressionless as she explained her past situation, slightly befuddled, but not surprised after what he'd witnessed so far. " Sounds like a pretty lazy bastard to me/" He shrugged. "Some horses just don't deserve to still be sharing air with the rest of us/ " He offered a sly smirk. Orbs still watching her, their glassy surfaces cold, reflecting the serene terrain surrounding them.
" Do you have anything that you wish to ask me? " He queried. " There is nothing you can ask that I will not answer" And that simple stated was solidly true, he answered anything and everything no matter how personal, crude, or idiotic it could be...sometimes, his answers were less than expected, but he was who he was and there was nothing he saw shameful enough to hide from a member of his harem. She listened closely as he spoke, watching him as well. She was the kind of mare that didn't want to, or like, missing things that people said or did. She had always been that way, and was honestly a mare who preferred to listen to what others had to say, rather than to speak. Odd some may have called it, and to others it could have been perfectly normal, or they even may have been able to relate to the habit.
She thought for a moment when he ask if she had any sort of question for him. So far, she didn't think anything had been pressing her mind. But then again, she hadn't really been paying attention to such. Now that the mare thought of it, she glanced back up at the stallion. "I think there's one thing." She said, shifting her weight slightly. "What more is there to this land? I've only seen a small amount so far." She said. Her ears twitched slightly as the very faint sound of a howl reached them, but she simply snorted, before looking back to the stallion.

His head tilted slightly as she thought, awaiting for words to flow from between her velvet kissers. When she did speak, his harks rested comfortably pointed toward her. His gaze, however, was set about watching his territory. etching every detail into the deep grooves of his mind, becoming familiar with the area. His weight shifted slightly as silence filled the gap between spoken language.
" There is quite a large amount of terrain within this abode, much of it lies within this area of scattered trees, sparse grasses, and the sluggish creek. But...the caverns are by far the most prominent feature, extending into a series of caves that are yet to be explored...who knows what will be found. " His attention was drawn to the jutting rocks and dark mouth to the main entrance. " And yes, we have our nearby lupine neighbors to keep our senses sharp." He glanced to her with a coy smile. Her auds were perked forward as usual, catching each word that the stallion had said. She blinked when she noticed his coy smile, yet she returned with a simple half-smile and a small incline of her cranium barely able to be considered a nod. She had had her fair share of experiences with the filthy creatures called wolves, and she had not appreciated any of those experiences. Taunting, terrible beast she found them; but did not near ever horse think that way of a wolf, if they had experienced one or not, as well?
"Glad to have a land I can explore." She said. "I've always been quite the curious one. Feigning for adventure, one might easily say." This was solely truth. She had always wandered off, wanting to see things first, and for herself. She never seemed content with simply hearing about something. She always wanted to see it, to trust her own eyes, however dangerous that might have been.

He listened closely, his thoughts beginning to churn into a different pattern. His frame slowly rolled into steady motion, dial flicking back toward the female to follow. " Perhaps then, we should do some exploring. " His orbs had taken on a spark of interest. The click of his hooves upon the cold, flat stone followed, entering a world of darkness. Here he stopped, waiting for the female to join him, and also allowing his eyes to begin to adjust to what little light there was, while his other senses began to heighten.
The air within the stony walls was old, stale, and windless. Each breath and every movement sent the particles crashing into each other....Sounds was also bounced off of the walls, creating confusion when trying to determine where noise was coming from. He looked into the deeper area of the cavern, seeing various openings that would lead deeper downward, into his unknown terrain. " Where to start...." He muttered. [/blockquote]

Hurricane chuckled as he suggested that they explore, and nodded her head. Perhaps this was a stallion who's company she would come to appreciate. But then again, only time would be able to answer the mare's question. She hesitated for only a moment, watching the stallion, before she started forward at a steady pace. She halted beside him when he stopped, letting her eyes adjust to the sudden darkness. She had never much minded darkness, and wondered how some animals could fear or become uneasy within it's presence.
She took note of how stuffy the air had grown, yet still, she did not mind this. Calm as she may have seemed, nothing ever appeared to bother her. And if it did, solemnly did she let this show, as she found it a sign of weakness and vulnerability. Her auds perked forward as he spoke, the sound seeming to echo. She shifted slightly so that she was standing a bit closer to him, and blinked, taking note that her eyes were now adjusting to the darkness quite well.

After a few blinks, he headed toward the far right of the cave, taking the closest route to the wall...walking with slight caution so as not to accidentally turn a hoof upon a loose stone or crevice. His senses were keen, becoming sharper as visibility soon became nearly impossible. He felt the damp wall to his right, keeping close until it turned sharply, at which point he halted. His neck craned slightly around the corner of what must be a interior cavern.
His head lowered, snuffing at the ground, picking up traces of small animals, perhaps rats, having tracked here not too long ago. He entered the open area, blowing the air in front of him, waiting to see how quickly the puff of air returned to hit him. It was large...there was no doubt about that. If there were more like this, then he could sustain quite a large herd with enough shelter for them all when needed. Quite good indeed. The only issue now, was to make sure that it was safe....the possibility of a steep drop off or something of the sort was quite high, so this exploration would have to find whatever hazards they might come across. OoC: Sorry it took so long. It's bad, too. D; Museless, it'll get better.
Bic:
Hurricane followed the stallion, keeping as quiet as possible. She followed him into the larger cavern, attempting to be as cautious as possible. The last thing she wanted was to fall somewhere and have absolutely no chance of getting back up. Despite how cautious she was being, the mare stumbled over a medium sized, loose rock. Snorting slight, having given herself a bit of a scare, she stood up straight and glanced around. She was still going to have to be alert. As far as she was concerned, things remained unexplored. But in no way or form would she turn around now.

(ooc: it's ok, I have absolutely no muse...being sick and stressed and such xD) His ears were trained to the small sounds around him...as well as the clicking of Hurricane's hooves. He smelled some source of water, and coled his muscles to send him into motion just as as heard the mare stumble behind him. He snorted at the louder sound as it tumbled against the cavern walls, but said nothing for now. He was walking...slowly, his neck stretched low, whiskers brushing the ground.
A few steps later, who knows how many feet or yards, he came to an abrupt halt. The ground before him seemed to drop away, a rush of stale air drifting up from below. It could either be a deep gorge of or simply a slope...his reached his nose over, seeking the ground, but finding nothing. Hm....he began walking again, trying to find out if there was a way down, or if it ended anywhere. In any case, he set the location close to mind to warn others who might wish to wander within the caverns. [/blockquote]
